Acura rl 2012 Gets 6-Speed Automatic TransmissionFirst there were rumors that Honda would axe the Acura RL, and then came the official word that it wouldn’t, but here is the first sign that the RL continues to carry on – even if the car has become irrelevant.
While it’s not official for North America, Honda in Japan has announced that the Acura RL (still sold as the Legend there) will get a refresh for the 2012 model year that includes a new 6-speed automatic transmission. This may help the RL pick up a few extra buyers as the added gear should help improve both fuel economy and acceleration. Then again, perhaps its just a bigger sign of how irrelevant the RL is when the supposed luxury car is only now getting a 6-speed transmission – something Ford offers on the $13,000 Fiesta.
A selection of other upgrades and trim changes for the RL are made for 2012, plus it gets a unique new invention: an in-wheel silencer that is designed to absorb road imperfections.
No changes are slated for the 300-hp 3.7-liter V6 engine.
If anyone at Honda is listening, we’re certain the addition of a more Honda-like grille (rather than the Acura beak) would help sell a few extra cars here as well.
Acura TSX 2012
Acura TSX 2012
Even in the 4-cylinder grade, the Acura TSX is a big Euro competitor. Its configuration stems from the Honda Accord. Smaller than the Accord, the TSX cannot be misidentified as an Accord sold in the United States. The TSX hosts an attractive frontend, loads of gadgetry, and advantageous features thereby making it a desirable car. The Acura TSX hosts a 2.4-Liter Inline Four motor churning out 201 horsepower. Car buyers can also get a 3.5-Liter V-6 engine generating 280 horsepower. The TSX remains ahead of the pack in the sedan segment, and competes with the Audi A4 and BMW's 328i. Soon, the carmaker will offer a competitive wagon-style configuration; this will let the TSX take the lead when competing with German vehicles in the car segment. The TSX is making headway as it competes with German and Japan cars powered by a V-6 engine coupled with rear-drive features. What the TSX lacks in driving power and speed, it makes up for in driving manners. The TSX will have improved appeal when the wagon configuration is introduced for 2011 honda accord crosstour
2011 honda accord crosstour
Debuting in 2010 was the Honda Crosstour and this vehicle is now a competitor in the growing Crossover Utility Segment. The Honda Crosstour is an Accord based wagon offering targeting empty nesters and retirees that are seeking sport, practicality, utility, and style. Since all the latter is identified in the Honda Accord, by extension, such features are also identified in the Honda Crosstour wagon. The Honda Accord sports a 2.5-inch shorter body than the Honda Crosstour. The Honda Accord has a .3-inch larger ride height and .1-inch larger wheelbase. The Honda Crosstour has .4 ft.³ more passenger room than the Accord as well is far more cargo space than the latter vehicle. Both vehicles have the same V-6 engine and five-speed transmission. The Honda Crosstour is sold with all-wheel drive or front-wheel-drive configurations.Consumers will find the styling of the Crosstour complex and somewhat compromised. The vehicle hosts an invasive strut towers located in the rear that diminishes the cargo capacity. It also has a sweeping roof contour that compromise is headroom. Nevertheless, the Honda Crosstour has light, tight driving dynamicsHonda Element 2012
Honda Element 2012
While the Honda Element may seem like just another boxcar clone, the element entered the American market well before Kia, Scion, and Nissan models. The Element has distinctive styling; it comes with a bigger body, one powertrain offering, and All-Wheel-Drive.The attributes that make the Element different from the rest include the visually-appealing interior, clamshell-cargo doors, and its well-appointed cabin. It's sold with a 2.4 L inline-four engine, and it is a bit bigger than the vehicle it replaces in this segment. The Element is an SUV alternative and is not necessarily ideal as an urban drive about. If you love the outdoors the Element may appeal to your tastes. Basic niceties include stain-resistant carpeting, upholstery that is waterproof, and add-ons like a cooler for keeping beverage chilled. You can even get the Element in a dog friendly version: the 2010 special addition that hosts a ramp, netting and stain-resistant components.Opting for the SC trim level you will discover a vehicle with superior on the road grip, a great suspension, responsive steering, large wheels, and a speedy driveHonda ridgeline 2012

When Honda announced it would produce a tweener pickup (not quite large like an F-150, bigger than a Tacoma) capable of seating 5 and carrying on all the duties any good DIY (do-it-yourselfer) would want, truck loyalists scoffed. First off, the truck has unibody construction (vs. a ‘heavier’ duty body-on-frame of most trucks) which is (mostly) perceptually inferior than a traditional body-on-frame truck. And while most people couldn’t tell the difference, it was labeled (unfairly) a car-based truck. Truth is, car companies can make unibody trucks that are extremely capable. Second, Honda didn’t have any meaningful history with pickups. As Toyota learned the hard way, larger pickups are something that takes time to develop as the core buyers are extremely loyal to the domestic brands. It took Toyota a decade to break 100,000 units and they had a “feeder” system with hundreds of thousands of loyal Tacoma drivers on the road. Third, the competition is fierce. Ford and Chevy have such an advantage in the marketplace in terms of economies of scale and manufacturing experience. I mean, why take a risk on a Honda when a cheaper, more proven domestic pickup was actually superior? Personally, I don’t think the product was wrong in any way, but it wasn’t right for the brand. One thing is for sure, people who bought them loved them. If you look at the consumer ratings on Honk.com, the Honda Ridgeline scores a A-, which is just about as good as any other pickup in its class.Overall, the Honda Ridgeline has been a sales flop for Honda. And while it initially achieved its sales goals of 50k units, the recent sales slump has dragged their sales volume below 20,000 units per year – hardly a sustainable number for Honda. Of course, Honda did spark a new resurgence in unibody pickup interest. Kia, GM, and even Ford have all been actively looking into unibody compact pickups, although many have said those programs will now go away. Truth is, the big boys have a grasp of this market and the DIY market has slowly retreated back into the cars they came from. I guess rebuilding your house is not as cool as it was a few years back!
Let me take a quick moment to douse a little 40oz onto the pavement for the Honda Ridgeline. One good note is that the Honda Ridgeline pricing should be pretty fantastic the last two years of production. I imagien the prices will start to fall now that the announcement has been made. Expect many incentives if you want to be the last 40-50K owners of this vehicle.
Let’s take another moment to bow our heads in silence to other unibody pickups that have failed before the Honda Ridgeline…
